This is a product I can highly recommend for sealing your pruned branches on your fig trees. It is way better than tar products in my opinion as it doesn’t crack as quickly in the Australian summer heat. It has been developed by a tree surgeon and is great at preventing pests and disease to infect trees. It is a water based acrylic coating with the ability to expand and contract through heat and cold, thus protecting the tree for up to 3 years.
I use this to stop borer ingress as this can really affect the vitality of your tree.
Its available in two colours (brown and white). Given the size I don’t hold this product on site so will take a week or so to get to you.
It comes in 500ml or 2 litres so it will last you a fair amount of prunes but well worth the expense to stop the evil borer beetle.
