The Grca Crna fig. This translates to Greek Black. This is one of many Croatian Figs that arrived in Australia through immigrants looking to establish themselves a new life. Sourced from a Melbourn Family with Croatian Heritage this has been identified with the help of a fellow Croatian fig enthusiast in WA for this one with input from overseas Croatian fig farmers!

You will find that the same fig will have different names depending on the country but I like to call them from the country the original mother tree is from. You will also find that when identifying figs, different growing conditions in different countries can mean slightly different looking figs of the same cultivar. At the end of the day, it's the taste of the fig that matters and this is a spectacular one!
