The Savona
This fig was sourced from an old Italian Immigrant who said he brought this fig to Australia from the Savona Region of Italy. He didn't have a name but said it was the best fig in the region.
It is a honey type fig and best picked just before the birds got to it.
It has a similar lobe to the Pink Jerusalem and is similar in texture and sweetness . It has a but dominant yellow shade, different to any other fig in my collection.
It is a great little Italian Fig and is well placed amongst any collection.
